Questions about Crypto Deposits & Withdrawals on Bittrex Global

Below are instructions on how to deposit or withdraw coins/tokens onto Bittrex Global, along with common questions and scenarios that you may encounter.

How to Deposit coins/tokens to your Bittrex Global Account

In order to deposit coins to Bittrex Global please follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that your account has been identity verified. Find more information.
  2. Click Holdings in the upper right hand of the site.
  3. Search for the coin wallet you are going to deposit to, and click “Deposit” under the Actions tab.
  4. To deposit, please copy your Wallet Address. If you do not have a Wallet Address, click "Generate new wallet address."
  5. If the wallet is under maintenance, you will see this: Learn more here.
  6. Please make sure to read the coins deposit instructions if they are available.
    • Some coins and tokens have a minimum deposit amount specific to that coin. For example, ETH requires a minimum deposit of .05. If you send a deposit smaller than the minimum amount, you will need to send another deposit. The two deposits need to meet the minimum to be executed. Learn more here.
    • Some coins will require a message/paymentID/tag/memo in order to route the coins to your account. If this information is not attached, you could risk losing the funds. If the proper message/paymentID/tag/memo was not included, you will need to contact our customer support team here and provide the deposit’s full transaction hash for further investigation.
  7. You can now send coins to this address. Please make sure that you only send the same type of coins to this address. This means if you generated a BTC address, deposit BTC and not another coin. If you deposit a different coin than what the address was generated for, you risk losing these coins permanently and will be subject to Bittrex Global's Deposit Recovery Policy.

Please note: We cannot credit transactions until they have the proper number of confirmations on the blockchain. Bittrex Global does not have control of the blockchain. Transaction time is controlled solely by the blockchain of the coin you are depositing. If your transaction is confirmed in the blockchain and still has not been credited, please let us know by filing a support ticket.

Questions about Crypto Deposits

What type of coins does Bittrex Global Support?
Bittrex Global currently supports five (5) base markets: US Dollar, Euro, BTC, ETH, and USDT (Tether ERC-20). We also support various ERC-20 tokens, TRX-10 tokens and many independent coins and blockchains.  Please review our markets page, or our API page for more information on what coins and tokens we support!

How to verify a transaction on a block explorer.
You can research the transaction on the appropriate block explorer for the deposited or withdrawn coin. For example, you may search for a BTC transaction on https://blockchain.info. Please reach out to our support staff for assistance to find your transaction on the blockchain or to find the correct block explorer.

Why are my Deposit and Withdrawal icons grayed out on my wallet?
Wallets that are not eligible to be withdrawn from or deposited to will be grayed out. This may also occur if your account has been disabled for use. If your account is disabled, please enter a support ticket for assistance.

Where is my Deposit?
We cannot credit transactions until they have the proper number of confirmations on the blockchain.  If the deposit is not showing on your account, here are a few troubleshooting tips and tricks to review.

  • Were you provided with a transaction id (TxID) or hash to verify the transaction was processed?
    • Review your transaction on the blockchain and ensure that the transaction has been confirmed. To find a block explorer, search for "COINNAME block explorer" on a search engine, which should lead you to the coin’s block explorer.
    • For Bitcoin, enter your transaction ID here to check if it is confirmed. Please note that unconfirmed deposits cannot be credited.
  • Review your Pending Deposits.
    • Access your balance page.Scroll down to Pending Deposits to review any pending deposits on the account. Review the transactions minimum confirmation to the right side of the deposit. If it has not yet been met, you will need to wait for confirmations.
    • Before depositing, minimum confirmations can be reviewed through our API here. Press control + F to open the find bar and type in the coins name to retrieve the MinConfirmation information.
  • Review your Deposit History.
    • Access your balance page. Scroll down to Deposit History. Occasionally with some coins, the transaction will appear, but with a new TxID or hash. This is because the transaction went into the blockchain with one TxID, and then left the wallet to Bittrex Global on another TxID. This is common with Minimum Deposit coins such as ETH and the ETH ERC-20 Tokens, WAVE Tokens and LSK blockchain tokens.
  • Does your coin require a tag/paymentID/memo/message?
    • Please make sure to check the deposit instructions for each coin and follow the instruction provided. If you did not include the proper tag/paymentID/memo/message please submit a ticket and provide the support staff with the full transaction hash of your deposit. The typical crediting time for deposits without the proper message is up to four weeks.
    • Tokens that may require a memo are as follows: AEON, ARDR, BITS, BTS, BURST, DCT, GBG, GOLOS, IGNIS, MOBI, NXT, SBD, STEEM, TUBE, XDN, XEL, XEM (NEM), XHV, XLM, XMR, XRP.
  • Did you send coins to an incorrect address?
    • Bittrex Global has many coins available for trading and it is common for users to generate an address for one coin and process a deposit for the incorrect coin. In some circumstances, we may be able to retrieve these coins. If you sent the coin to a different coin's address, please submit a ticket providing our agents the coin name, the sent address, the TxID, and the amount of coins sent. This type of deposit mistake can take over a month to credit and may require a fee to recover. You can read more about Bittrex Global’s Crosschain Recovery Policy
      • Examples of recoverable crosschainsBTC to a BCH Address, BCH to a BTC address.
      • Example of an unrecoverable crosschain: USDT(Omni) to USDT(ERC-20) address.
      • Some tokens may have the same ticker. For example, the ERC-20 token CPT is listed as both Cryptaur Token and Contents Protocol Token. Please be sure that you are sending the correct token when depositing to Bittrex Global as we cannot revert incorrectly deposited funds.
      • We will be unable to credit funds sent on the wrong blockchain type. An example would be when an ETH ERC-20 token moves to their own mainnet blockchain (e.g. TRX and PAL were previously ETH ERC-20 tokens. They are now on their own mainnet blockchain).

If your transaction is confirmed on the blockchain, had the correct memo, and still has not been credited please open a support ticket and include the full transaction hash for our customer service agents to investigate.

Questions about Crypto Withdrawals

Where is my Withdrawal?
When a withdrawal has been initiated, you may have questions on where to find the TxID/transaction hash or where the withdrawal is if it has not yet arrived at the destination. If your withdrawal is not showing, here are a few troubleshooting tips and tricks to review:

Were you provided with a TxID or hash to verify the transaction was processed?

  • Review your transaction on the blockchain to see if it has been confirmed. If the transaction has confirmations on the blockchain, you will need to reach out to the receiving side for more assistance.
  • If the transaction is not on the blockchain please wait for the transaction to process. If it has been 24 hours, then please open a support ticket with our support staff.
  • If you were not provided a TxID or hash, access your balance page and scroll down to Withdrawals. If your transaction was broadcasted to the blockchain, a TxID or transaction hash will appear in the Withdrawals section.
  • If you were provided a TxID but does not appear on the blockchain and has been 24 hours then please open a support ticket with our support staff as it is possible that the withdrawal has orphaned.
  • Does the transaction show Unauthorized or Invalid in the Pending Withdrawals section?
Access your balance page and scroll down to pending withdrawals. Review your pending withdraw status for errors.
    • Was the withdrawal Authorized? If you have 2FA, you will be prompted to enter the 2FA code during the withdrawal process. If you do not have 2FA, click the verification link provided through the systems withdrawal confirmation email. In rare cases, you may see an Authorized state for longer than expected. Please be patient, the withdrawal will still process but may need extra time or manual interaction, which we perform throughout the day.
    • Was the withdrawal sent to an invalid address? All coins have a unique address and blockchain. They must be sent to the correct address type on the correct blockchain. (e.g. BTC to BTC, XLM to XLM). If the coin was sent to an address that is not valid for the blockchain, the transaction will not be completed. Coins that require messages may show up as invalid if you enter an invalid message into the tag/paymentID/memo/message field. If you are withdrawing one of these coins to a destination that does not require a tag/paymentID/memo/message, please leave this field blank.
    • All pending withdrawals that you wish to have cancelled, must be cancelled by the user. Click the red x next to the withdrawal to release the reserved funds for another withdrawal attempt.
    • If you attempt to cancel your withdrawal and receive an error such as"Error: PAYMENT_IN_PROGRESS," please open a support ticket with our support staff and include a screenshot of the error you have encountered.
  • The most common errors you may have encountered when trying to withdraw funds.
    • "Your available balance is not sufficient for this withdrawal."This error indicates that your balance does not meet the minimum withdrawal criteria (3x the TxFee). If you feel this is in error, review any open orders or pending deposits to see if coins are held in reserve.
      • For insufficient balances, you will either need to sell the coin on the market, buy/deposit more of the coin to meet the minimum withdrawal criteria, or if there is no market available, the funds will remain on the account, unusable.
    • NEO requires a withdrawal of an integer (whole number) in addition to the transaction fee. If a withdrawal does not meet the criteria, you may encounter the error"Your withdrawal amount must be an Integer." The minimum withdrawal allowed for NEO is 2.025.
    • XLM requires a minimum of 20 XLM to withdrawal. If a withdrawal does not meet this criteria, you may encounter the error "WITHDRAWAL_TOO_SMALL."
    • You may also encounter the error "Account Disabled."Wit Please open a support ticket with our support staff for assistance. Additional troubleshooting is available through our Error Codes Troubleshooting page.
  • Why are we charged a withdrawal fee, how do I find it, and in what way does it impact withdrawals?
    • Each coin has a built-in network transfer fee to process withdrawals. Bittrex Global must charge a small amount to cover this fee.
    • The coin’s withdrawal fee is viewable by clicking the 'Withdraw' button next to the coin’s withdraw window. The minimum withdrawal amount is 3xs the transaction fee. (e.g. DOGE has a Tx Fee of 2.0. The Minimum withdrawal is 6.00000001). Alternatively you can also review the TxFee section of the API to calculate the minimum withdrawal.
    • If your balance is insufficient due to the fee, you will either need to sell the coin on the market, buy/deposit more of the coin to meet the minimum withdrawal criteria, or if there is no market available, the funds will remain on the account but unusable.

If you still need assistance with any withdrawal questions or concerns, please open a support ticket and include all details and issues for our customer service agents to investigate.

  • Did you complete the withdrawal?

You can click the + icon to find the withdrawal transaction ID. If the coin has not yet showed up in the intended destination wallet, please check the transaction on a block explorer before opening a support ticket. If the coin is confirmed on the block explorer and not in your wallet, you will need to troubleshoot the receiving end of the transaction. If you cannot find the transaction on the block explorer after 1 hour, please open a support ticket detailing the coin name and transaction ID.

Airdrop, Swaps, Distribution Announcements, Soft Forks, Hard Forks, Contentious Hard Forks, and Chain Splits

Bittrex Global may support Airdrops, Token Swaps, and Distributions of Tokens. If Bittrex Global plans to support an airdrop, token swap, or distribution, it will be announced through our Twitter page, and our support articles.

  • Airdrops occur when token creators decide to distribute free tokens to holders of other established tokens. This most commonly happens when a coin forks and the new coin/token is promoted by distribution to the established coin holders.
  • Token Swaps occur when a token moves from one type of blockchain to another. An example would be when an ERC-20 token moves from the ETH blockchain to a mainnet blockchain (e.g. TRX was an ERC-20 token that now runs on its own mainnet blockchain).
  • Token Distributions occur when a promotion or token unlock program is underway. Promotions will be listed in our support articles with information on how to participate. Most unlocked programs are set for a long period of time (1-5 years).
  • Soft Forks occur when the older version of a token is cast aside for a new version. You can still use the old version. However, a market for the new version of the token may not be available. The most notable attributes are that they are backwards compatible with the old version of the chain and does not result in a chain split.
  • Hard Forks occur when the majority of users on a network achieve consensus to require a software upgrade. The most notable attributes are that the blockchain will be split into two, maintaining a common history. These are not backwards compatible with the older version of the blockchain and usually include an upgrade/change to the software.
  • Contentious Hard Forks usually occur when there is a disagreement within the network’s community about the direction of the coin. One part of the coin community will continue on the current chain, while the other part of the community moves to their own chain (e.g. ETH/ETC and BTC/BCH forks).
  • Chain Splits occurs naturally when the blockchain is split due to miners racing to find the winning block information. Splits can also occur with a hard or soft fork. Chain splits create two or more versions of the original blockchain that share their history until a certain point. Chain split often increase replay attack risk, where a transaction meant to be conducted on one blockchain is confirmed on the other chain leading to the loss of those tokens.

Additional Withdrawal and Deposits Questions and Issues

Q: I deposited a coin / token that Bittrex Global does not currently support.
A: Bittrex Global does not have access to funds that are deposited when we do not have a wallet to support the deposit. If Bittrex Global supports the coin or token in the future, you may create a support ticket and our staff will see what options are available at that time.

Q: I deposited a coin / token that Bittrex US does not support but Bittrex Global does.
A: If you deposited a coin/token to Bittrex Global without generating a wallet, funds may be lost. If you deposited an ETH Token or TRX Token, or sent the funds to the Bittrex Global base address, please create a support ticket and our staff will see what options are available at that time. Any Bittrex Global deposits that are credited to an account will remain on the account, but unavailable for use. Should Bittrex US support the coin/token, at that time the funds would become available for use.

Q: My Coin / Token deposit to Bittrex Global says "Out of Gas" on the blockchain.
A: "Out of Gas" errors occur when the transaction is incomplete. Bittrex Global will not have access to these funds. Reach out to the sending side for more assistance or a refund.

Q: My coin/token shows that it was "reverted" on the blockchain.
A: When a transaction is reverted, it will normally be sent back to either your wallet, or the Bittrex Global Base address. If your transaction states that it was reverted, please create a support ticket for our team to review the transaction.

Q: I withdrew my coins / tokens to the incorrect address or blockchain.
A: Once a withdrawal has cleared on the blockchain, Bittrex Global no longer has these funds. You may be able to find assistance with the receiving end of the transaction.

Q: I am trying to withdraw my funds and they require a memo, tag, or payment ID, but there is no place to input the tag when withdrawing.
A: Bittrex Global does not always support the use of a memo, tag, or payment ID for certain coins/tokens. If you are considering transferring coins/tokens to a different exchange that does require a memo/tag, we recommend transferring your coins/tokens to a personal or third-party wallet first.

Q: I am trying to deposit my funds and they require a memo, tag, or payment ID, but there is no place to input the tag when depositing, or Bittrex Global is asking for a tag, and I do not have one.
A: Bittrex Global does not always support the use of a memo, tag, or payment ID for certain coins/tokens. If you are attempting to deposit a coin that requires a memo on another exchange, it may not be required to deposit to Bittrex Global. If you are depositing a coin that require a memo/tag, we recommend transferring coins/tokens to a personal or third-party wallet first, then depositing into Bittrex Global. If you send funds without a memo attached, please create a support ticket and our support staff will see what options are available to you.

Q: I received a TxID but it is not on the blockchain or I did not receive my withdrawal.
A: If your withdrawal has not completed, please provide the blockchain up to 24 hours to complete the process. After 24 hours, you may submit a support ticket as the withdrawal may have orphaned.

Q: The market for my coin was removed and now I need to withdraw my coins, how long do I have?
A: Bittrex Global generally seeks to provide users up to 14 days to withdraw any delisted tokens, but in certain instances the withdrawal period may be shortened. Users should withdraw any tokens before the posted withdrawal deadline.
