Steps to complete before requesting a Corporate account
  1. Prepare all of the required documents for the corporate request form:

    Notes:

All documents must be originals and include English translations when not in English. The number of attachments you can upload is limited to 5 due to security precautions, so please combine into 5 or fewer attachments. Attachments can be uploaded as image, text, PDF, or Zip files.

blue_checkmark.PNGArticles of incorporation or other equivalent organizing documents, such as: memorandum of
organization, articles of association, or company bylaws.

blue_checkmark.PNGGovernment issued Tax ID confirmation (e.g., your EIN Employer Identification Number on form 147c in the US) or some other proof showing that your company is not subject to government taxation and provide equivalent tax ID if applicable.

blue_checkmark.PNGLocal government operating registration (e.g., State registration in the US), such as certificate of incorporation, articles of incorporation, or certificate of formation

blue_checkmark.PNGShareholder document listing full legal name and address of all who own 25% or more of all companies involved. [Publicly traded companies should not attach.] Please also attach personal ID documents for each natural person owner and/or controller of the company at this time.

blue_checkmark.PNGTrader authorization on company letterhead signed by a Significant Control Person (SCP) (does not need to be the SCP who completed identity verification on the account), listing full legal name, date of birth and address of those authorized to trade on the company’s behalf.

blue_checkmark.PNGAnti-Money Laundering (AML) and Know Your Customer (KYC) policies and documentation if your Bittrex Global account will support any buying or selling of cryptocurrency directly for others, online or in-person. For example, you must include if any aspect of your business supports (or intends to) cryptocurrency brokerage, OTC trading, ATMs, retail stores, or online digital exchange. [Pure investment funds do not need to attach, only attach if exchange criteria listed here is met.]

  2. Determine the “Significant Control Person" (SCP) for your organization. This is an individual who meets either of these conditions:

blue_checkmark.pngDirectly/indirectly holds 25% or more of the company’s issued share capital or voting rights, or holds the right to appoint or remove a majority of board of directors, or

blue_checkmark.PNGHas the right to exercise, or actually exercises, significant influence or control of the organization (e.g., has signing authority to bind the organization in legal agreement)

  3. Determine the authorized trader(s) for your organization who will have access to the account(s). These must be individual persons, not bots or companies.
  4. Create the desired amount of Bittrex Global accounts needed for your organization, including at least one account for the “Significant Control Person" (SCP). All accounts will be created as Personal accounts, which will later be changed to Corporate accounts once your request has been approved.

    Notes:

Each Bittrex Global corporate account is associated to a single email address and a segregated pool of funds. Bittrex Global does not support hierarchical accounts currently.

If your organization wants to trade from a single fund pool: Request 1 corporate account. Bittrex Global does not currently support separate logins for the same account via the UI for corporate users. More access options are available via API.

If your organization wants to trade from multiple fund pools: Request multiple corporate accounts, at least one for each segregated fund balance. There is no limit to the number of personal accounts you can upgrade to corporate accounts under a single organization.

Example 1: “Our organization is a hedge fund. We have 3 traders, all accessing the same pool of funds at the same time. How many Bittrex Global accounts do we need?”
Answer: Request 1 account if the Significant Control Person has identity verified the account. Request 2 accounts if the Significant Control Person wants funds held in an account identity verified by someone else for compliance purposes.

Example 2: “We are a large financial institution. We have 5 traders, and each one trades their own balance from the web console to easily track daily Profit & Loss (P&L).”
Answer: Request at least 5 corporate accounts, 6 if you want each trader to have their identity verified on each account. The sixth account fund balance may remain empty, but identity verified by the Significant Control Person for compliance purposes.

Example 3: “We are a large financial institution intent on trading using the API. We have one pool of funds but plan on creating an API key for each trader to track Profit & Loss (P&L).”
Answer: Request 1 account if the Significant Control Person has identity verified the account. Request 2 accounts if the Significant Control Person wants funds held in an account identity verified by someone else for compliance purposes.

Not sure how many accounts you will need? If you are not sure just request 1 account now. We can quickly add more accounts for your organization any time after your organization receives corporate account approval.

  5. To complete the account setup, each account will need to perform identity verification by uploading a selfie and a government-issued ID, and add source of funds.

    Notes:

The Significant Control Person (SCP) must complete identity verification on at least one of the accounts - an assistant may not identity verify the account on behalf of the SCP. The SCP could also choose to perform identity verification on all accounts using the same ID. If the SCP is only performing identity verification on one account, the remainder of the accounts must be identity verified by the authorized trader(s). One single authorized trader may perform identity verification on all other accounts using the same ID if needed.

If any one person performs identity verification on multiple accounts, our system will automatically disable any accounts that were verified using the same ID. This is expected behavior because Bittrex Global only allows one Personal account per person, and all accounts are initially created as Personal accounts, but we will be sure to re-enable all deactivated accounts that you want upgraded to Corporate accounts once your request has been approved.

Identity verification status of any account can be found on the web version by logging in to your Bittrex Global account and clicking My Account > My Profile > Account verification. Account(s) that are successfully identity verified will have a green checkmark and say "Verified."
